Pilot partners for the Data Citation Corpus

Community input is an integral part of our project to develop the Data Citation Corpus. We invite repositories, librarians, institutional representatives, funders, publishers, and infrastructure providers to become pilot partners to hear about the latest milestones in the project and share feedback to inform the development of the corpus.

Uses of the Data Citation Corpus

The Data Citation Corpus provides insights into how data is used in research activities, by providing an open aggregate of links between datasets and articles that made use of the data. During the Make Data Count Summit, we explored the insights that funders and institutions can already gain through the Data Citation Corpus.

Make Data Count Summit 2024

RDA Data Usage Metrics Working Group

Make Data Count co-leads the RDA Data Usage Metrics Working Group, which was created to recognize the benefits that metrics that reliably reflect impact of research data bring to all stakeholders. The group sought to synergize efforts to prioritize ways to reliably count and report data usage at repositories.

Update to the COUNTER Code of Practice for Research Data

Developed in 2018, the COUNTER Code of Practice for Research Data provides a framework to standardize the generation and distribution of usage metrics for research data. This enables repositories and platform providers to produce normalized and consistent usage metrics for research data.

Make Data Count and COUNTER are collaborating on an update to the Code of Practice for Research Data, to respond to the developments in research data infrastructure since the initial publication of the code, and to community feedback on aspects of its implementation.
